Warriors’ Game 5 lineup could be absolutely lethal

The Golden State Warriors Game 5 lineup could be exactly what the fans have been wanting to see with the new “death lineup” potentially starting.

Is it time for Steve Kerr to unleash his most dangerous lineup?

As the Warriors prepare to take on the Nuggets in Game 5 with a 3-1 series lead, it’s possible fans will see a new starting five.

According to Shams Charania’s sources, Stephen Curry, Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green could start together on Wednesday.

Warriors’ Game 5 lineup could be absolutely lethal

“Sources: There is momentum toward the Golden State Warriors having their most lethal lineup as the starting five tonight vs. Denver in Game 5 – Stephen Curry back in, with Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green. Final decision to be made today,” Charania tweeted.

In the playoffs so far, that lineup has been by far the best for Golden State. They’re +39.4 in just under 32 minutes on the floor together.

Curry is averaging a team-best 27.5 points per game in the series but he’s been coming off the bench as he returns from injury. Thompson is averaging 24.5 points while Poole is at 24.3, Wiggins is at 14.5 and Green is at 9.3. Wiggins leads the team in rebounds per game. Green leads in assists, steals and blocks.

With a 3-1 lead, it makes sense for Kerr to try out this three-guard lineup. If it works out, they’ll win and he’ll know what he can deploy in the next round. If it doesn’t and they lose, he’ll be able to rework things for Game 6 with some cushion remaining in the series.
